Women’s Congress at all levels for term 2021-2026 successfully concluded

In the context of huge challenges and difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Women’s Congress at all levels for term 2021-2026 successfully concluded with high consensus and determination, towards the 13th National Women's Congress (2022-2027 tenure), to be held in early March 2022.

Since 2020, the Central Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) has promptly issued plans, guiding documents and different online trainings to help the WUs at all levels to be proactive in organizing the Congress in accordance with orientations, principles and procedures.

As of December 31 2021, Women’s Congress at all levels for term 2021-2026 are successfully conducted, preparing for the 13th National Women's Congress (2022-2027 tenure), to be convened early March 2022. This presents an unprecedented congress due to the wide impact of the epidemic. For the first time, WUs at all levels in some localities organized the congress in hybrid format (face-to-face and virtual). This reflects great efforts of the WUs at all levels as well as the high determination and support from local authorities, and the Central VWU.

Previously, the Central VWU has piloted an online Provincial Women's Congress in Son La, with the participation of WUs of provinces and cities across the country, thereby promptly learning experiences in organizing the congress in other provinces and cities.

Reviewing activities over the past 5 years, women from all strata of the society have made efforts, in contribution to the great achievements in all fields of social life. The national goals on gender equality in different fields have made remarkable progress, creating conditions and opportunities for women to affirm their good qualities, major potential and important role in the family and society.

For the new term, the Congress determined to implement two new breakthroughs, including digital transformation and IT application in the VWU's activities and joining hand to build a strong VWU.

On the sidelines of the Congress, delegates also express thoughts and aspirations to leaders of WUs at all levels in the coming tenure, such as proposing solutions to support women in economic development in the post COVID-19 condition; joining hands to prevent and fight against domestic violence, trafficking and abuse of women and children….
