Afternoon of 29 March, Delegation of two women’s organizations of Ukraine and Ukraine-Vietnam Friendship Society headed by Mme. Gheraximenco Leokadia, Vice- President of Ukraine-Vietnam Friendship Society visited VWU.
After visiting the Vietnam Women's Museum, the delegation had a working session with leaders of VWU at the Center for Women and Development - 20 Thuy Khue - Hanoi.
On behalf of VWU, Mme. Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy warmly welcomed the delegation; confirmed the solidarity and friendship between the two countries’ people, especially between Ukrainian and Vietnamese women; appreciated Ukrainian people’s support and assistance to Vietnamese people in the cause of the struggle for the national independence.
She introduced briefly to the delegation the efforts, important results achieved by VWU towardsgender equality and development of Vietnamese women and the major contributions of Vietnamese women to the country’s construction and development.
Mme. Gheraximenco Leokadia expressed her delight when visiting Vietnam and VWU, and thanked VWU’s leaders for their warm welcoming. She stressed that the friendship between Ukrainian and Vietnamese women would be forever maintained and developed; praised the role of Vietnamese women in the national construction and development.
There, Mme. Xemenhiuk Valentina, Vice- President of Ukraine-Vietnam Friendship Society, President of Women’s Union of Ukraine “For the future of Children” expressed Ukrainian women’s love to Vietnamese women; affirmed that the cooperation between women of two countries would be increasingly close and developed in the future. She also wanted that VWU would visit Ukraine so that she could introduce to VWU what the Women’s Union of Ukraine "For the future of children" is doing to actively contribute as well as the implementation of policies on protecting the rights of women and children.
Also at the meeting, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements among VWU, Women’s Union of Ukraine and Women’s Union of Ukraine "For the future of children" was taken place. According to the agreements, VWU and two Ukrainian Women's Unions will regularly exchange information concerning the activities of the Women’s Unions, information relating to women and children of the two countries; as well as exchange delegations between VWU and two Ukrainian Women’s Unions.
