" Years after the reunification, at the age of 84, this is the first time I have been able to come to the capital city to visit Uncle Ho’s Mausoleum and the "mutual home" of Vietnamese women - the Vietnamese Women's Museum," Mrs. Nguyen Thi Xuan, a member of the Long-Haired Army from Ben Tre Province said at the gathering organized by the Vietnamese Women's Union (VWU).

on the afternoon of May 29th, after visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a delegation from the Long-Haired Army from Ben Tre Province had a meeting at the Vietnamese Women's Museum. on behalf of the Vietnamese Women's Union, Madam Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Madam Do Thi Thu Thao and other members welcomed them.

Vice President of the Vietnamese Women's Union, Madam Nguyen Thi Tuyet said: "We invite the delegates to visit the Vietnamese Women's Museum because this place holds a lot of memories related to the Female General of the Long-Haired Army - Madam Nguyen Thi Dinh”.

"When she was alive, Madam Dinh had a desire to have a place to introduce the legacy of Vietnamese women. She herself contributed to build a museum about Vietnamese women. Thanks to such a humble foundation, the Vietnamese Women's Museum has thrived to become the "mutual home" that preserves images and objects of indomitable, heroic, loyal and skillful women across Vietnam. This is also a great destination for millions of visitors from all over the world. That’s why the Board of Directors of the Vietnamese Women's Union decided to welcome Ben Tre's Long-Haired Army here", Madam Nguyen Thi Tuyet emphasized in her speech.

They reminisced about the patriotic past
Mrs. Pham Thi Thanh Thao, Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Women's Union of Ben Tre Province, Head of the delegation expressed her feelings: "Twenty women, who came together for this trip to the capital city, were members of the Army. Fifteen of them are here for the first time. The youngest member is 67 years old, the oldest is 96 years old. They are representatives of 285 living members of the Army."
"Even though traveling by car and airplaines for 2000 kilometers in such hot weather, they are still happy and excited. While visiting the Mausoleum today, some couldn't hold back their tears", Head of the delegation added.

Vice President of VWU – Madam Do Thi Thu Thao handed gifts to the Long-Haired Army’s members
Sharing her thoughts at the meeting, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Xinh emotionally said: "After many years of the reunification, at the age of 84, this is the first time I have come to the capital city to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum and the "mutual home" of Vietnamese women – the Vietnamese Women's Museum. This is an exciting trip filled with indescribable feelings. Hanoi has always been special to us. I still remember vividly the wartime when the enemy dragged the guillotine across southern provinces, the Long-Haired Army was always steadfast and dedicated to the Communist Party. Under direct leadership of Female General Nguyen Thi Dinh, our spirit remains resilient and unabashed. I always dreamed of meeting Uncle Ho once to die happily. After more than 40 years of reunification, I now have a chance to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum and the Vietnamese Women's Union. I am extremely satisfied."

Vice President of the Vietnamese Women's Union delivered a speech on the activities of the Union and women’s movements across the country
Mrs. Le Thi Mi, from Giong Trom Province, age 82, recalled: "It has been years since the reunification, I still can't forget the horrible memories of the wartime. We were trained to be determined during the war. We always feel proud to contribute to the victory in protecting the motherland and continue to keep the heroic spirit as the descendants of Madam Nguyen Thi Dinh".

"... From the beginning of the first century A.D., when the two Trung Sisters rose up to fight the enemy and save the nation, until now, whenever our country has faced danger, our women have contributed whatever they could toward the cause of national liberation.

Our people are grateful that our mothers from South and North alike have borne and raised our nation's generation of heroes....

Under the Socialist system, tens of thousands of women have become specialists in different fields and, as cadre, serve as directors and vice-directors of factories, leaders of farming cooperatives, presidents of People’s Committees, and general secretaries of Party Cells....

And so, the women of Vietnam from ancient times until now, from South to North, from young to old, are truly heroes ..."
