AGENT ORANGE/DIOXIN
Duc now a businessman
Posted: Aug 06,2008

Readers will be as pleased as I was to read that Nguyen Duc born conjoined with his twin brother Viet in 1981 and separated in an operation in October 1988 has set up a business with his friend Thanh Phat repairing and selling computers.

Duc said that once the business is on track they plan to take on people handicapped by Agent Orange in a bid to support Vietnamese victims of the chemical estimated at over three and half million.

“I’ll try so hard that it’ll be like both me and my brother, who died last year, are working,” said Duc.

He pick up his computer skills while working in the office at Tu Du Hospital where both he and his brother Viet were treated and had lived shortly after they were born.

Duc’s wife Tuyen who he married in December 2006 will also be working with Duc and Thanh Phat in the enterprise.

We send our best wishes for a successful venture to all three.

"... From the beginning of the first century A.D., when the two Trung Sisters rose up to fight the enemy and save the nation, until now, whenever our country has faced danger, our women have contributed whatever they could toward the cause of national liberation.

Our people are grateful that our mothers from South and North alike have borne and raised our nation's generation of heroes....

Under the Socialist system, tens of thousands of women have become specialists in different fields and, as cadre, serve as directors and vice-directors of factories, leaders of farming cooperatives, presidents of People’s Committees, and general secretaries of Party Cells....

And so, the women of Vietnam from ancient times until now, from South to North, from young to old, are truly heroes ..."
