Representatives from the Foreign Ministry of Vietnam and the United Nations Development Programme on July 21 signed a document on the project called Empowerment of Women in the Public Sector in the Context of International Economic Integration.

The project will have been implemented from March 1, 2008 to December 31, 2012 with a total cost of over US$5 million, in which the Vietnamese Government contributes US$50,000 in kind and the Cambridge Scholarship Fund provides US$1.17 million.

The project includes the training of 25 Vietnamese female leaders in the State section to obtain master and doctorate degrees and to participate in speciality seminars.
