At the moment, Thuong Tin District Women’s Union (Ha Tay province) at all levels in cooperation with the AgriBank and Social policy Bank are managing effectively 240 entrusted groups with the debit balances of 35,573 millions VND which help 4923 household members to develop their economy.
In addition, self – mobilizing capital sources from saving of 365 women groups provided loans to 1242 members; WU’s fund with total of 972 million VND provided loan to 423 members; 3 millions VND from the project of clean water and sanitation provided to 487 households in communes namely Hoa Binh, Khanh Ha, Thu Phu, Dung Tien, Nghiem Xuyen and Thuong Tin town.
In order to implement the project of providing loans to pupils and students, the district women’s union together with the Social Policy Bank assessed and disbursed approximately 3 million VND to more than 700 local pupils, students for their continuous schooling. With loans from these sources, a lot of household members expanded their production scale from small husbandry to cattle farm, orchards, fishery…These activities bring gross income of 50 to 80 million VND/ year as in communes namely Thang Loi, To Hieu,Nghiem Xuyen, Dung Tien…Apart from that, women’s union at all levels also took surveys and classified 705 households that are facing difficulties in economy and helped them with know how such as disseminate the experiences in breeding, cultivation, provide man-hour, plant, stud animal, cash with nointerest rates…
As a result, in 2007, over 129 household members of women’s union escaped from poverty and stabled their life. This year, Thuong Tin district women’s unions at all levels have set the goals of mobilizing capital sources with total from 35 millions VND upward to provide loan to its members forproduction and business development; striving to get at least 1 effective economic model in each WU units and 3 households escape from poverty.
